Research Theme
I study the causes and consequences of individual variation in avian mating strategies. I focus on reproductive tactics and provisioning behaviour and consider how and why alternative strategies are maintained in the population. My current work on albatross species falls into four main areas:
1) Individual behavioural variation (or ‘personality’ differences)
2) Foraging and provisioning strategies
3) Individual reproductive tactics
4) Interaction between birds and fisheries and the conservation implications
