We are working
at the population level
(through long term monitoring) and at the
individual level.
-
The originality of our
approach is for example to study the foraging behaviour of individuals
to understand how climate and oceanographic variations influence the populations.
Our research is
interested in a series of questions:
-
How do individuals forage
in relation to the distribution and the abundance of marine ressources
?
-
How do individuals allocate
these ressources between reproduction and survival?
-
What are the consequences
of these allocation processes at the population level?
The general objective of the
program is to understand how climate changes
affect marine ecosystems.
This research is
mainly conducted in the French Southern Territories (Terres Australes et
Antarctiques Françaises) but also in tropical, temperate and
arctic environments.
